StreamSim by UpTrended

Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 28, 2026 Applies to: StreamSim (iOS)
This Privacy Policy for StreamSim explains what information we collect when you use our app, why we collect it, and what rights you have. StreamSim is a practice live-stream chat simulator — all chat messages and stream activity are generated locally on your device. There is no account, no backend server, and no user content ever leaves your device.

Summary of Key Points

StreamSim is a privacy-first app. It has no account system, no login, no server, and no backend database. The only data that ever leaves your device is crash reports sent to Sentry when the app unexpectedly crashes.
  • No account required: You never create an account or provide personal information to use StreamSim.
  • No personal data collected: We do not collect your name, email, location, contacts, or any personally identifying information.
  • On-device only: All simulated chat, personas, and stream activity are generated and stored entirely on your device.
  • One off-device service: Sentry receives crash reports if the app crashes — this is the only data that leaves your device.
  • No ads, no tracking, no data sales: StreamSim contains no advertising SDK, no analytics SDK, and we never sell data.

1 What Information Do We Collect?

Settings stored on your device

StreamSim saves a small number of preferences locally on your device so the app remembers your choices between sessions. These are stored only on your device and never sent to any server:

  • Chat text size preference
  • Username color theme
  • Content rating filter (e.g., all audiences vs. restricted)
  • Chat simulation mode

These preferences are stored using AsyncStorage on your device and are deleted when you uninstall the app.

Crash reports (automatically collected, only when the app crashes)

If StreamSim crashes or encounters a fatal error, Sentry — our crash monitoring provider — automatically captures and sends us a crash report. This report contains:

  • Your device model (e.g., "iPhone 15 Pro")
  • Your iOS version (e.g., "iOS 18.4")
  • The StreamSim app version you were using
  • A stack trace showing where in the code the crash occurred
  • A sequence of recent in-app events (breadcrumbs) such as "opened home screen" or "tapped Big Win button" — without any content you've interacted with

Crash reports do not contain your name, your location, your settings content, or any personally identifying information. They are used solely to identify and fix bugs.

No crash = no data sent. Sentry only activates when the app crashes. If you use StreamSim without encountering a crash, no data is ever transmitted off your device.

2 How Do We Use Your Information?

We use the limited information described above for one purpose only:

  • Bug fixes and stability: Crash reports from Sentry help us identify errors in StreamSim and release fixes so the app works reliably.

We do not use any information to identify you personally, build a profile of you, serve you ads, or share data with third parties for marketing.

3 Third-Party Services

StreamSim uses one third-party service that receives data from the app:

  • Sentry — crash and error monitoring. When the app crashes, a crash report is sent to Sentry's servers in the United States. Sentry does not receive any personal data or app content — only device and error information as described in Section 1.
    Sentry Privacy Policy

StreamSim's source code is hosted on GitHub. GitHub does not receive any user data from StreamSim — this is purely a code hosting relationship with no effect on user privacy.

StreamSim has no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK, no payment processor, no email provider, and no database. Sentry is the only SDK that transmits any data off-device.

4 What Stays On Your Device

Everything about the StreamSim experience is generated and stored locally:

  • Simulated chat messages — generated in real time by the app's on-device chat engine. They are never saved or transmitted anywhere.
  • Viewer counts and chat intensity — simulated locally using a state machine. No real viewers, no real data.
  • Platform skins — visual themes (Twitch-style, TikTok-style, etc.) rendered entirely on-device using original artwork. No connection to those platforms.
  • Your settings — stored on-device in AsyncStorage. Deleted when you uninstall StreamSim.

StreamSim makes no network requests as part of its core simulation features. The internet connection is only used by the Sentry SDK, and only in the event of a crash.

5 Data Retention

  • On-device settings: Stored on your device indefinitely until you uninstall StreamSim or clear the app's data in iOS Settings.
  • Crash reports (Sentry): Retained by Sentry for 90 days, after which they are automatically deleted.

Because StreamSim has no account and no server-side user data, there is nothing for us to delete on your behalf. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data.

6 Children's Privacy

StreamSim does not collect personal information from anyone, including children. Because no account is required and no personal data is collected, StreamSim poses minimal privacy risk to users of any age.

The app includes a content rating filter that lets users restrict simulated chat to age-appropriate content. Parents should be aware that the default setting may include simulated comments typical of live-stream chat environments.

If you have questions about StreamSim's suitability for a child, contact us at support@uptrended.com.

7 Your Rights

Because StreamSim does not collect or store personal data on any server, most traditional data rights (access, correction, deletion, portability) do not apply in the traditional sense — there is no account to delete, and no personal data held by us.

If you would like the crash report data associated with your device (if any exists within Sentry's 90-day retention window) to be deleted, or if you have any other privacy concern, contact us at support@uptrended.com and we will assist you.

If you are in the EEA or UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

8 Policy Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy as StreamSim evolves (for example, if we add new features that involve data collection). We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page when we do. If we make a material change that meaningfully affects how data is collected or used, we will post a notice on this page at least 30 days before the change takes effect.

We encourage you to review this policy periodically to stay informed.
